Ravens TE Crockett Gillmore switching to offensive line

Free agent and former Baltimore Ravens tight end Crockett Gillmore is moving to offensive line, according to a report from Jeff Zrebiec of The Baltimore Sun.

Gillmore, 26, has struggled with a litany of injuries during his four-year career, especially in the last two seasons. In 2016, Gillmore dealt wit a thigh injury, playing in just seven games. Last season, Gillmore missed the entire year with an MCL injury, which required surgery.

During his four years with the Ravens, Gillmore has played in 32 games, starting in 16 games at tight end. Gillmore caught 51 catches for 604 yards and six touchdowns.

Zrebiec also reports that Gillmore has added a great deal of bulk to his frame. Gillmore had been previously listed at 6’6, 260 pounds.

It is unknown whether or not Baltimore would bring Gillmore back as an offensive lineman, but it would certainly help to have depth at those positions. Baltimore saw two starters go down on the offensive line last season in Alex Lewis and Marshal Yanda.

Baltimore will most likely attempt to draft another tight end in the 2018 NFL Draft.

According to Crockett’s new agent, Gillmore is now up to 305 lbs.
