Logan Ryan, Titans host puppy adoption at Nissan Stadium today

One is named Vrabes. Another is J-Rob. There’s also Mana and Lani, who Marcus Mariota named. There will be 26 puppies available for adoption today at Nissan Stadium from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m as cornerback Logan Ryan and the Titans host a “Pup Rally." The Titans practice at Nissan Stadium 3:30 p.m.

"Dogs have made my family a better family," Ryan said, "and these animals need a home."

The event is sponsored by Ryan Animal Rescue Foundation and the Nashville Humane Association.

"It's going to be our first big event,” Ryan said. " I encourage everyone to rescue dogs just sitting there in shelters. The Nashville Humane Association — I have a good partnership with them since I've been here for over a year, and they volunteered to bring all of the volunteers and the dogs and keep the dogs cool and try to make it as humane as possible for them."

Ryan had several friends and teammates name puppies, including Titans coach Mike Vrabel, general manager Jon Robinson, and controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk.

Cornerback Adoree' Jackson named a puppy Reese after his favorite candy. Cornerback Malcolm Butler named a puppy Butler and defensive tackle Jurrell Casey named one Casey. The names Mariota gave two puppies have significance, too: "Mana” means power in Hawaiian, and “Lani” means heaven.

"It's a great opportunity to get the dogs in front of the fans," Ryan said. "I hope it encourages more fans to show up, the animal lovers out there to show up and check out these dogs and come hang out with some dogs and see if you want to bring one home for your family."

"I think that animals unite families, so I think it's great.”
