Bucs WR Jackson comes alive in win

It hasn’t been the greatest of starts for Bucs WR Vincent Jackson, but he sure knew how to finish on Sunday.

Jackson entered Heinz Field with only 10 catches for 102 yards through Tampa Bay’s 0-3 getaway and his average of 10.2 yards per reception was more than seven yards off his career rate.

But with the game on the line and time running out, it was Jackson who lined up wide left and beat veteran CB William Gay to the corner of the end zone for the winning grab.

“They were holding Vincent’s jersey all day, but he came through,’’ rookie TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins said after Jackson hauled in Mike Glennon’s 5-yard laser with only seven seconds remaining to stun the home crowd and end Tampa Bay’s 10-game losing streak in September matchups.

Jackson was targeted 10 times by Glennon and caught only three passes for 32 yards. On the snap before the game-winning play, Glennon overthrew Jackson, once again working against Gay.

“I knew Mike was ging to give me a chance for a ball on the outside,’’ said Jackson. “I went out there and competed for the ball.’’
